Location: Purfleet, Essex
Pay Rate: £37.50 per hour (Outside IR35) or PAYE option available

Overview

We're seeking an experienced Maintenance Engineer to provide extra shift cover at a leading international FMCG manufacturer based in Purfleet. This opportunity offers flexibility – ideal if you're looking to pick up additional shifts (typically once or twice a week, or 2‑3 times a month) to earn extra income around your existing role.

Key Responsibilities

• Carry out planned preventive maintenance (PPM) as required
• Attend to breakdowns in a fast‑paced manufacturing environment
• Diagnose and repair mechanical and electrical faults
• Support continuous improvement and minimise downtime

Requirements

• Proven experience as a Maintenance Engineer within an FMCG or high‑speed manufacturing environment
• Qualified mechanically or electrically (Apprenticeship, NVQ, City & Guilds, or equivalent)
• Strong hands‑on maintenance skills (mechanical and electrical)
• Able to work autonomously and respond quickly to breakdowns
