Job summary

Chesterfield Poultry is seeking a Sponsorship Skilled Maintenance Engineer (electrically or mechanically biased) based near Doncaster. You will deliver repairs, maintenance and reliability improvements across the site to keep equipment safe and productive.

You will work rotating shifts with early and back shift patterns, and bring 5+ years in engineering, plus NVQ 3 or equivalent, ideally in a food manufacturing setting. An engineering mindset and proactive safety culture are essential.

Qualifications

• Completion of a 4-year approved technical training programme.
• Minimum NVQ Level 3 or equivalent in mechanical/electrical repair and maintenance.
• At least 5 years experience in a similar engineering role.
• Experience in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.
• Food manufacturing experience is advantageous but not essential.

Responsibilities

• Carry out repairs, corrective maintenance and planned preventive maintenance (PPM).
• Complete tasks from audits, work requests and PPM follow-ups.
• Ensure machinery meets site standards and escalate issues as needed.
• Support handovers between shifts and maintain good housekeeping.
