Maintenance Engineer (Electrical)

Location: Trowbridge, Wiltshire
Salary: Up to £42,500 (total package up to £46,890 - includes one weekend in seven, paid at overtime rates)
Hours: Monday to Friday, 07:00-15:00
Benefits: Overtime paid at x1.5 and x2, 25 days' holiday + bank holidays, pension, life insurance, and an on-site canteen serving hot and cold meals.

Our client is a long-established, successful manufacturing business based in Trowbridge, operating within the fast-moving consumer goods (FMCG) sector. They're known locally for their modern, clean facility and supportive working culture.

We're looking for an Electrical Maintenance Engineer to join their production maintenance team. You'll receive full training on site-specific machinery and have access to further professional development, including multi-skilling and BOAS certification.

Role Overview

Working within a team of 18 engineers, you'll be responsible for ensuring the smooth and efficient operation of all production and packaging equipment across the site.

Key duties
  • Carry out reactive maintenance - diagnose and repair electrical and mechanical faults quickly to reduce downtime.
  • Perform planned preventative maintenance (PPM) to keep equipment reliable and efficient.
  • Support installations and modifications of electro-mechanical systems and new production lines.
  • Work collaboratively with production and operations staff, providing technical support and training when needed.
Requirements

This role would suit an experienced Maintenance Engineer or someone with a strong electrical background looking to develop within manufacturing.

  • NVQ Level 3 (or equivalent) in an Electrical Engineering discipline.
  • Proven experience fault-finding on electrical systems, control panels, and machinery.
  • A proactive, problem-solving approach with strong teamwork skills.
  • Previous experience in a manufacturing, production, or FMCG environment is advantageous.
