Job description

Maintenance Engineer – Mon to Fri days, no weekends.

Location: Deeside / Chester.

Salary: £45,000 + pension + 26 days holiday + 8 bank holidays + benefits.

Hours: Monday to Friday daytime.

The Job
  • Be part of a team to initially help set up the plant, factory, systems and processes.
  • This role is the first engineering role in the automated high bay warehouse so is quite an autonomous role initially with good challenges and prospects.
  • Maintain manufacturing and materials handling machinery such as conveyors, materials handling machines, bearings, wrappers, packaging machinery.
  • Monitor materials and goods flowing in and out of the warehouse.
  • Reactive and preventive maintenance, changeovers.
  • Contribute to downtime improvements, HSE.
  • Guide and assist operators eg lubrication tasks.
The Person
  • The work is likely to be more mechanical so happy / able to perform mechanical duties.
  • Able to fault find and isolate electrically to enable sensor changes.
  • NVQ 3 or ONC or HNC.
  • Good communication, stakeholder engagement and collaboration skills important.
  • Suitable backgrounds can include (but not limited to) manufacturing plant experience eg materials, packaging, FMCG, food, automated warehousing, stackers, sorters / sortation, robotics, sensors, scanners, labellers, conveyors, printing, materials handling, glass, plastics, paper, converting, metals, medical, pharmaceutical.
