Maintenance Engineer (Days)

Location: Ballymena
Salary: £40,000 + Benefits
Hours: Monday - Friday (Day Shift)

A leading food manufacturer is seeking a Maintenance Engineer to join their well-established engineering team at their modern production facility in Ballymena. This is an excellent opportunity for a multi-skilled engineer with a background in manufacturing or FMCG to work a day shift role with strong earning potential and long-term stability.

The Role

Reporting to the Site Engineering Manager, you will work as part of a multi-skilled team responsible for ensuring optimum performance of filling, packing, and processing machinery. You will be involved in both preventative and reactive maintenance, as well as supporting continuous improvement projects across the site.

Key Responsibilities
  • Carry out preventative and reactive maintenance on automated production and packing equipment.
  • Diagnose faults and complete repairs to ensure minimal downtime.
  • Support the installation and commissioning of new machinery and plant.
  • Drive continuous improvement projects to improve efficiency and reliability.
  • Ensure compliance with Health & Safety and site quality standards.
  • Work collaboratively with production teams to achieve operational targets.
About You
  • Time-served multi-skilled maintenance engineer (mechanical or electrical bias).
  • Minimum 3 years' experience in a manufacturing or FMCG environment.
  • Confident in fault finding, diagnostics, and maintaining automated production equipment.
  • Excellent communication, teamwork, and problem-solving skills.
  • Proactive and reliable with a strong commitment to safety and quality.
