Job summary

A leading recruitment firm is seeking an experienced maintenance engineer to join a successful FMCG company in Cumbernauld, Scotland. This role offers a chance to develop your engineering skills and work on exciting projects. Responsibilities include maintenance of plant machinery and contributing to stock control. Ideal candidates will have a recognised apprenticeship in an electrical or mechanical discipline and experience within the manufacturing sector, particularly with PLCs and automation systems. Shift pattern: continental—4 on, 4 off.

Qualifications

  • Experience of maintenance engineering gained in the manufacturing sector.
  • Proactive approach to maintenance and support for KPI improvements.

Responsibilities

  • Carry out repairs, maintenance work and routine testing of all plant machinery.
  • Maintain an adequate level of workshop spares and contribute to stock control.
  • Complete planned maintenance work orders.
  • Ensure all auditable paperwork is completed and filed correctly.
  • Assist in the development of preventative maintenance mechanisms.

Skills

Experience with PLCs and automation systems
Knowledge of hydraulics and pneumatics

Education

Completion of a recognised apprenticeship in electrical or mechanical discipline

My client are currently looking to recruit an experienced maintenance engineer to join their site in North Lanarkshire. You will be working with an extremely successful FMCG company, that are going through a continued period of development and investment.

Duties & Responsibilities
  • Carry out repairs, maintenance work and routine testing of all plant machinery and equipment
  • Maintain an adequate level of workshop spares to meet production requirements and contribute to stock control requirements for an allocated area
  • Complete planned maintenance work orders
  • Ensure all auditable paperwork is completed and filed correctly
  • Demonstrate a proactive approach to maintenance and assist in the development of preventative maintenance mechanisms
  • Understand and support KPI improvements
Qualifications and Experience
  • Completion of a recognised apprenticeship in electrical or mechanical discipline
  • This is an electrical biased role, therefore experience with PLCs and automation systems is highly desirable.
  • Experience of maintenance engineering gained in the manufacturing sector
  • Knowledge of hydraulics and pneumatics would be desirable

Shift pattern: Continental - 4on 4 off (2 Days, 2 Nights, 4 Off - repeat)
