Job summary

Gi Group is recruiting on behalf of a well-established manufacturing business for an experienced Maintenance Engineer to support a busy UPVC and Aluminium factory. You will carry out daily planned and reactive maintenance across a wide range of machinery including saws, corner cleaners, welding and reinforcement equipment.

The role requires strong electrical and mechanical capability and the ability to work with various CNC machine types and control systems.

Qualifications

• Minimum 2 years' experience in CNC machine tool service/maintenance.
• Strong electrical and mechanical capability.
• Confident working with a variety of CNC machine types and control systems.
• High attention to detail with manual dexterity for small components.
• Clear understanding of fast, effective repairs to reduce downtime.

Responsibilities

• Carry out daily planned and reactive maintenance across machinery including saws, corner cleaners, welding and reinforcement equipment.
• Repair and service sensors, relays, belts, blades and pneumatic systems.
• Electrical and mechanical fault-finding and repair.
• Diagnose and repair breakdowns to minimise production downtime.
• Coordinate inspections and servicing as required.
• Complete hands-on repairs or escalate to specialists as needed.
• Ensure maintenance reports are documented for management.
• Work in accordance with Health & Safety policy.

Monday-Thursday 07:30-16:30, Friday 07:30-14:00

The Role

• Carry out daily planned and reactive maintenance across a wide range of machinery including; saws, corner cleaners, welding machinery & reinforcement machines.
• Repairs and servicing will range from sensors and relays to belts, blades and pneumatic.
• Electrical and mechanical fault-finding & repair
• Diagnose and repair breakdowns to minimise production downtime
• Coordinate mandatory inspections and servicing as required
• Complete hands-on repairs where possible, and when not, upscale and manage specialist support
• Ensure all maintenance and repairs are fully documented and reports are produced for management.
• Work in full compliance with the Company Health & Safety Policy at all times

What we're looking for

Hours and Salary

• Monday to Thursday: 07:30 - 16:30
• Friday: 07:30 - 14:00
• Salary: £18.00 - £20.00 which may be negotiable
• Part time hours may be considered for the right candidate
