Job description

We are seeking a Maintenance Engineer to join our team on a 12‑month fixed‑term contract. You will play a vital role in ensuring our operations run smoothly by delivering effective planned and preventive maintenance and ensuring safe methods of work. This position will support the transition and continuity of production before transferring to the new site. The role is based at our Pocklington Global Plant, with the potential of longer‑term opportunities at the new plant in Howden. Reporting to the Engineering Manager, you will:

Responsibilities
  • Deliver planned and preventive maintenance across the site.
  • Respond promptly and safely to equipment breakdowns.
  • Follow Standard Operating Procedures, Risk Assessments, and Method Statements.
  • Adhere strictly to Health & Safety policies, including Permit to Work systems.
  • Support plant reliability and availability by contributing to Overall Equipment Effectiveness (OEE) improvements.
Qualifications
  • NVQ Level 3 (min) in mechanical and electrical disciplines.
  • IPAF 3B license (desirable).
  • Welding and fabrication skills (advantageous).
  • Experience within a production/manufacturing environment.
  • Knowledge of relay logic and PLC fault‑finding.
  • Experience with fluid‑transfer pumps (centrifugal/progressing cavity).
  • Understanding of LOTO, PUWER, and LOLER regulations.
  • COMAH site experience (highly desirable).
  • Ability to read and interpret electrical schematics, P&IDs, and engineering drawings.
  • Strong problem‑solving and diagnostic skills.
  • IT literacy, with working knowledge of CMMS systems.
  • Flexibility to work rotating shifts in line with seasonal demands.
