Job description

Are you a hands-on Maintenance Engineer looking for your next challenge in a fast-paced, high-quality food production environment in the Northallerton area?

We’re hiring a proactive and reliable engineer to join a dynamic and growing team at a leading UK food manufacturer. This is your opportunity to play a key role in keeping a world-class production facility running at its best.

What you’ll be doing:

  • Carrying out planned preventative maintenance (PPM) across a range of food production machinery

  • Responding quickly and effectively to breakdowns to reduce downtime

  • Working closely with production teams to maintain peak operational performance

  • Supporting continuous improvement and factory development projects

  • Assisting with equipment installation and commissioning

  • Ensuring all work is completed safely and in line with food safety and hygiene standards

What we’re looking for:

  • Experience in a maintenance engineering role – food or FMCG background ideal

  • Strong mechanical and electrical fault-finding skills (including pneumatics and hydraulics)

  • A proactive, can-do attitude and ability to work independently and as part of a team

  • Flexibility to work shifts and support production as needed

  • Engineering qualifications (NVQ Level 3, HNC/HND or similar) desirable, but practical experience equally valued
