Job description

Maintenance Engineer — Somerset | 4 on / 4 off (2 days, 2 nights)

There's a lot going on here right now. New projects, new kit, and millions being invested into site — which means plenty of opportunity for the right people to get stuck in and move up.

We're after a Maintenance Engineer who knows their way around manufacturing. Someone who enjoys problem-solving, doesn't mind getting their hands dirty, and takes pride in getting things running again quickly — properly, not temporarily.

If you've got an engineering qualification, a few years' experience in a manufacturing environment (food or FMCG would be handy, but not essential), and a decent grasp of Health & Safety, you'll fit right in.

Responsibilities
  • First-fix maintenance on a range of production and packaging machinery.
  • Diagnosing and repairing mechanical and electrical faults.
  • Reducing downtime and keeping things moving.
  • Getting involved in improvement projects and preventative maintenance.
  • Working closely with production and other engineers to keep the site ticking.
  • Multi‑skilled? Great. PLC experience? Even better. If you're solid on the fundamentals and want to keep learning — we'll help you get there.

The shift is 4 on / 4 off (2 days, 2 nights). It's consistent, gives you balance, and you'll actually get time to recharge between runs.

This role's open because people are progressing internally — and with the level of investment going into the site, it's a great time to join and grow your career too.
