Reporting to the Maintenance Team Leader, Maintenance Supervisor and Maintenance & Facilities Manager, this position is responsible for the overall maintenance of plant equipment and facilities ensuring the smooth running of the plant and limit impact on customer demand. Please note this role is a 3 shift rotation.
Responsibilities
- To ensure equipment availability is in line with departmental targets.
- To engage in root cause analysis of repeat/major breakdowns and provide reports with suggested improvements.
- To engineer out previous issues following a continuous improvement mindset & methodology.
- To facilitate the PM schedules and make recommendations for improvement.
- To support the internal customers with technical issues including non-breakdown.
- To ensure health, safety and environmental procedures are followed during maintenance activities.
- To maintain and improve the equipment so quality is built in.
- Attend training when required and adhere to CCUK and Magna standards.
- To apply 5S methodology in work area and wider factory.
- To align to departmental and company goals.
- To support management with ad-hoc projects as and when required.
- Promote the company's HSE policies across the department and plant and adhere to all health and safety environmental requirements.
Qualifications
- Time served apprentice in mechanical or electrical engineering or equivalent.
- Minimum C & G craft qualification / NVQ level 3 qualification in related discipline or equivalent.
- Willingness to multi-skill.
- Experience in fault finding from electrical, mechanical, pneumatic and/or hydraulic schematics.
- Proficient in Microsoft (especially Word, Excel, Power Point).
- To be able to communicate technical issues to non-technical staff.
- 5S experience.
- Eligibility to work in the UK.
Desirable Experience
- Qualification in both electrical & mechanical discipline.
- Educated to HNC/HND in related discipline.
- Experience within the castings sector.
- Health and safety accreditation.
- Experience of tier 1 automotive supply.
- Experience with die casting machines, furnaces, hydraulic presses, conveyors, assembly cells, ABB robots, Siemens PLCs, CNCs, etc.
