Job summary

KPI Recruiting Ltd is seeking experienced Maintenance Engineers to work on temporary/contract assignments across Trafford Park and the Manchester area. Roles cover mechanical, electrical or multi-skilled maintenance within production facilities.

Applicants should be time-served or apprentice-trained with a Level 3 engineering qualification and strong fault-finding skills. A proactive approach to machine reliability and the ability to work flexibly on shifts are preferred.

Qualifications

• Time-served or apprentice-trained Maintenance Engineers with hands-on experience in production/industrial environments.
• Strong fault-finding and problem-solving skills in manufacturing settings.
• Experience with planned and reactive maintenance and a proactive approach to breakdowns.

Responsibilities

• Carry out planned and reactive maintenance on production machinery.
• Diagnose faults and implement effective repairs to minimise downtime.
• Work independently or as part of a maintenance team and communicate effectively.
• Adhere to Health & Safety requirements and maintain clear engineering documentation.

Temporary Contract Maintenance Engineers - Manchester

Mechanical Bias | Multi-Skilled | Electrical Bias

Location: Trafford Park, Manchester
Contract: Temporary / Contract - various durations available

We are recruiting experienced Maintenance Engineers

We are currently looking for experienced Mechanical, Multi-Skilled and Electrical Maintenance Engineers to work on a range of temporary and contract assignments with established production and manufacturing companies throughout Trafford Park and the surrounding Manchester area.

Skills & Experience

We are interested in hearing from engineers who have:

• Previous experience as a Maintenance Engineer, Maintenance Technician, Engineering Technician or similar
• Experience within manufacturing, production, FMCG, process, packaging or industrial environments
• Strong fault-finding and problem-solving skills
• Experience with planned and reactive maintenance
• A proactive approach to machinery breakdowns and preventative maintenance
• The ability to work independently and as part of an engineering team
• Good communication skills
• A strong understanding of Health & Safety requirements
• The ability to work under pressure in a fast-paced production environment
• Good engineering documentation and reporting skills
• Flexibility to work different shift patterns where required

Applicants must be time-served or apprentice-trained Maintenance Engineers with a recognised Level 3 engineering qualification or equivalent, together with relevant hands‑on experience within a production, manufacturing or industrial environment.

Candidates should have a strong practical engineering background relevant to their discipline, whether Mechanical, Electrical or Multi-Skilled.
