Maintenance Engineer • £50,000 • Nottingham • 4 on 4 off (Days)

We are looking for an Electrical Maintenance Engineer to join a vibrant team of engineers on our Nottingham based site. This site is a 24‑hour operation running 365 days per year. You will work 4 on 4 off 12‑hour day shifts. There will be a requirement for you to give on‑call support, which will be substituted with a minimum 4‑hour pay for being called out.

The Group’s companies manufacture quality products for use in human and animal foodstuffs, agriculture, aquaculture, and industrial applications. The company also produces biofuels and renewable energy and provides services for farming and the food industry. The company has a UK annual turnover approaching £280 million and employs around 1 000 people at 23 sites across the country.

Responsibilities
  • To liaise with the Shift Team Leader to ensure the efficient running of the factory and associated processes.
  • To understand all factory operations, including steam raising plant / Odour control and effluent treatment plant.
  • Monitor all electrical equipment to ensure efficient operation.
  • Carry out breakdown repairs, as able, to factory equipment in a timely manner.
  • Provide assistance to other shift members, as necessary, when requested by the Shift Team Leader or Site Management.
  • Site Electrical installations and upgrade work, as designated by the Electrical Team Leader.
  • To carry out routine electrical or mechanical maintenance according to planned maintenance schedules.
  • To be on call for a proportion of the time.
Experience required
  • Must have served a recognised City and Guilds Electrical Apprenticeship.
  • Experienced in handling electrical maintenance and breakdowns.
  • Able to fault‑find PLCs and conversant with basic PLC logic and inverter drives.
  • Be able to troubleshoot and solve process problems.
  • Basic mechanical skills.
  • Ability to work on your own and as part of a team.
