Job summary

A leading environmental services company in Stafford is seeking a Maintenance Supervisor to oversee maintenance tasks at their Energy Recovery Facility. Candidates should have an HNC in Engineering and a minimum of 3 years of experience in a continuous process industry, preferably with knowledge of power generation. The role requires flexibility in working hours and includes a comprehensive benefits package.

Qualifications

Responsibilities

  • Manage and document all maintenance activities.
  • Conduct staff reviews and ensure all staff are trained.
  • Maintain files, logs, and drawings for all plant equipment.
  • Propose and develop modifications to plant equipment.
  • Update P&IDs, wiring diagrams, and mechanical drawings.

Skills

Engineering Apprenticeship or equivalent
Knowledge of steam raising and power generation
Understanding of Pressure System Safety Regulations
Experience with CEMS and environmental legislation
Computer literacy

What will you be doing?
  • Manage and document all maintenance activities, such as calibration, installation, fault diagnosis, and repair of electrical, mechanical, hydraulic and pneumatic control systems ensuring downtime is kept to a minimum while staying within the maintenance budget
  • Carry out and record staff reviews; probationary, disciplinary and grievance procedures, absence, performance & development programs and ensuring all maintenance staff are fully trained for specific tasks/duties.
  • Maintain files, logs, drawings and work reports for all plant equipment using the site file and folder directory.
  • To propose, plan, budget and develop modifications and improvements to plant and apparatus/equipment using experience and assessing defect/service/maintenance reports as appropriate.
  • Responsible for the update and modification to Piping and Instrument Diagrams (P&ID's), Wiring Diagrams, Panel Drawings, Hydraulic & Pneumatic diagrams, Mechanical Engineering drawings etc.
What are we looking for?
  • Recognised Engineering Apprenticeship or qualified to at least HNC, or equivalent, in a relevant Engineering discipline.
  • Minimum 3 years experience gained in a continuous process industry, preferably with knowledge on steam raising and power generation.
  • Sound knowledge and understanding of Pressure System Safety Regulations and Statutory inspection regulations.
  • Experience in Continuous Emission Monitoring Systems (CEMS) and environmental legislation.
  • Some manual handling, working in confined spaces and working at height is necessary.
  • Flexible working attitude that includes some weekend working to provide overall maintenance cover 365 days per year.
  • Must be able to be contacted, and attend site, outside of normal hours when required.
  • Computer literate and ability to train in Computerised Maintenance Management System and company specific programs.
