Job summary

Proactive Global is seeking an experienced Multi-Skilled Maintenance Engineer to join a leading automated warehousing and logistics operation in the United Kingdom.

The role focuses on maintaining and repairing highly automated distribution centre machinery, ensuring smooth, safe, and efficient operations while supporting continuous improvement and equipment reliability through proactive maintenance.

Qualifications

• NVQ Level 3 / City & Guilds Level 3 or equivalent in Mechanical or Electrical Engineering.
• Experience as Maintenance Engineer, Service Technician or Multi-Skilled Engineer.
• Strong mechanical and/or electrical fault-finding skills.
• Experience in automated warehouses, FMCG, manufacturing or distribution environments is advantageous.

Responsibilities

• Carry out planned preventative maintenance (PPM) and reactive maintenance.
• Diagnose and repair electrical, mechanical and control system faults.
• Respond to machinery breakdowns and minimise downtime.
• Maintain automated warehouse equipment and conveyor systems.
• Ensure machinery operates safely and efficiently.
• Support continuous improvement and equipment reliability.

Job description

We are currently recruiting for an experienced Multi-Skilled Maintenance Engineer to join a leading organisation within the automated warehousing and logistics industry.

This is an excellent opportunity to work in a highly automated distribution centre, maintaining and repairing machinery to ensure smooth and efficient operations.

Shift Pattern

• Early Shift: 02:00 - 10:00
• Day Shift: 05:00 - 13:00
• Late Shift: 10:00 - 18:00 / 11:00 - 19:00

Key Responsibilities

• Experience within automated warehouses, FMCG, manufacturing or distribution environments would be advantageous.
• Ability to work independently and as part of an engineering team.
