Job summary

A leading FMCG manufacturer in the Nottingham area is seeking a Multi-skilled Maintenance Engineer. The role involves conducting reactive and planned maintenance on high-speed production machinery, working closely with engineering and production teams to maximize efficiency. Ideal candidates will have an Engineering Qualification in Electrical or City & Guilds NVQ Level 3, along with experience in FMCG, heavy industry, or relevant areas.

Qualifications

  • Experience in heavy industrial or FMCG environments is desirable.
  • Knowledge of industrial 3-phase motor and control systems.
  • Understanding of pneumatic control systems.

Responsibilities

  • Conduct reactive and planned maintenance on production machinery.
  • Respond to unscheduled plant stoppages efficiently.
  • Work closely with engineering and production teams for efficiency.
  • Oversee planned maintenance activities.
  • Diagnose faults and implement solutions.

Multi skilled Maintenance Engineer

Rate: Up to £36,000

Shift: Monday to Friday, days only

Industry: FMCG/Manufacturing

Location: Somercotes

Synergi is recruiting for a Multi‑skilled Maintenance Engineer to join one of the leading FMCG manufacturers based in the Nottingham area. Their products are used across the UK. This is the chance to join a company that will help you develop and grow as a Multiskilled Maintenance Engineer. You will work alongside other engineers with extensive experience.

Roles & Responsibilities
  • Conducting reactive and planned maintenance on high‑speed production machinery.
  • Responding quickly and efficiently to any unscheduled plant stoppages.
  • Working closely within the engineering & production team to ensure maximum efficiency.
  • Possess a good understanding of the process, products and all quality procedures.
  • Responsible for overseeing planned maintenance.
  • Diagnosing faults.
  • Identifying problems on machinery and implementing solutions.
Ideal background of a Multi‑skilled Maintenance Engineer
  • Recognised Engineering Qualification in Electrical or City & Guilds NVQ Level 3.
  • Heavy industrial experience (desirable) or food, pharmaceutical, FMCG background.
  • Experience of industrial 3‑phase motor and control systems.
  • Experience of a plant with pneumatic control and operation and common industrial bearing systems.
