Qualifications

  • 3+ years in an engineering or FMCG role preferred.
  • Experience in maintaining automated food/manufacturing equipment.

Job description

Our client is one of the UK's leading manufacturers delivering high-quality, fresh products that meet the needs of consumers across retail and foodservice sectors.

Job Role & Key Responsibilities:
  • Perform planned (PPM) and reactive maintenance on conveyors, washers, mixers, and packaging equipment
  • Diagnose and repair electrical and mechanical faults (motors, sensors, controls)
  • Interpret electrical diagrams and carry out fault-finding tests
  • Ensure all work meets food safety, H&S, and GMP standards
  • Support continuous improvement and equipment upgrades
  • Act as key contact for operations and engineering leadership on shift
  • Maintain records, complete shift metrics, and elevate issues
  • Manage stock usage, shift paperwork, and safe working practices
The Ideal Candidate Will Have:
  • Recognised electrical qualification (excluding 17th Edition)
  • Strong electrical and mechanical experience in an industrial environment
  • Ability to read and fault-find electrical schematics
  • Experience in maintaining automated food/manufacturing equipment
  • Proactive, adaptable, with strong communication skills
  • 3+ years in an engineering or FMCG role (preferred)
Desirable:
  • Apprenticeship or formal multi-skilled qualification
  • Experience with food processing environments or wet/cold conditions
  • Confident using CMMS and basic IT systems
