We are seeking an experienced and proactive Maintenance Engineer to be responsible for the repair, maintenance, and upkeep of all factory machinery, equipment, and general facilities. This is an excellent opportunity for an engineer who thrives on problem-solving and implementing efficient maintenance systems within a food production environment.
Salary: Up to £50,000 per annum, depending on experience.
Shifts: 8-hour shifts, covering both Days and Nights, Monday to Friday.
Flexibility: Requires more night shift cover when business needs dictate.
Significant previous experience as a Maintenance Engineer within the Food Manufacturing industry is REQUIRED.
Proven ability to fault-find and repair packaging, processing, and utility plant equipment.
Relevant engineering qualification (e.g., NVQ Level 3, HNC, or equivalent).
As a Maintenance Engineer, your primary duties will include:
Repair and Service: Promptly repair and service all factory machinery and essential plant equipment to minimize downtime.
General Facility Maintenance: Participate in the ongoing day-to-day maintenance of the facility in general.
Troubleshooting: Actively participate in trouble-shooting activities related to machine breakdowns, malfunctions, and other technical issues.
Installation Support: Assist with the installation and commissioning of new equipment and machinery as and when required.
PPM System Development: Take the lead in the generation and implementation of a new Planned Preventative Maintenance (PPM) system, incorporating all plant machinery and equipment.
Scheduled Maintenance: Undertake planned preventative/predictive maintenance activities in strict accordance with the annual Total Productive Maintenance (TPM) schedule.
