Job description

Maintenance Engineer – Portsmouth
Start: ASAP
Hours: Monday to Friday, 8:00am – 5:00pm
Contract: Ongoing
Rate: £17.00 – £22.00 per hour (depending on experience and pay type)

We are seeking an experienced Maintenance Engineer to join a leading facilities management team on a commercial contract based in Portsmouth.
This role would suit a plumber by trade who also has good experience in minor electrical works and general fabric maintenance.

Responsibilities
  • Carry out planned preventative maintenance (PPMs) across plumbing, electrical, and building systems
  • Respond to reactive maintenance tasks and complete repairs in a timely manner
  • Undertake minor electrical repairs including lighting, sockets, and small wiring works
  • Complete fabric maintenance such as doors, locks, tiling, painting, and general patch repairs
  • Ensure all work is completed safely and to a high standard, following site procedures and compliance requirements
Requirements
  • Qualified plumber ideally (NVQ Level 2/3 or equivalent)
  • Experience in PPMs, reactive repairs, and general maintenance
  • Background working in a commercial or facilities management environment
  • Strong problem-solving skills with a proactive and customer-focused attitude
  • Full UK driving licence preferred

This is a full-time role, Monday to Friday, 8am to 5pm, with an immediate start available.
