Job summary

A leading steel supplier in the UK is seeking a skilled Maintenance Engineer. This role requires a candidate who is mechanically biased with experience in electrical systems. Key responsibilities include providing reactive and planned preventative maintenance, working on CNC machinery, and fault finding. The ideal candidate will be NVQ/C&G level 3 qualified with an 18th edition electrical qualification. Additional perks include a company car, death in service benefit, and a company pension.

Maintenance Engineer

About the client

Our client are one of the UK's largest steel suppliers who do front end manufacturing. Through growth they are now looking to bring on a skilled Maintenance Engineer who is mechanically biased but still experienced with electrical.

As a Maintenance Engineer your duties will include:
  • Providing both Reactive & PPM maintenance.
  • Working on a variety of machinery, most notably CNC Flame Cutting Machines & Lumsden Grinders.
  • Fault finding both electrical & mechanical.
  • PLC fault finding ability.
  • Adhering to all health and safety on site.
The ideal candidate for this Maintenance Engineer position will have experience:
  • Working in heavy industry.
  • Multiskilled with a Mechanical bias.
  • Qualified to level 3 (NVQ/C&G), must be level 3 in an electrical discipline.
  • Electrical (AC+DC) with 18th edition (or previous editions desirable).
  • Must have knowledge of fault finding on PLC's, fault finding in panels and be able to read electrical drawings etc.
  • Hydraulics Knowledge.
  • Experience with Gas.
  • Experience with Cranes / Working at Height.
  • General Building Work.
As a Maintenance Engineer you will:
  • Work Monday - Friday, 6am - 3.30pm, 2.30pm finish on Fridays.
  • Have a company car and fuel card.
  • Death In Service.
  • Company Pension.
