Job summary

Greencore Desserts Newark site is hiring a Maintenance Engineer for night shifts (4 on 4 off). You will perform planned and predictive maintenance, engage in machine changeovers, and support production with specialist technical input.

Expected to bring an engineering apprenticeship and wiring regulations knowledge, with hands-on skills across electrical and mechanical domains, fault diagnosis and continuous improvement focus. Site-based role in Newark, NG24.

Qualifications

Engineering apprenticeship completed with relevant qualifications.
Competent in applying Safety, Health and Environmental legislation.
Planners' ability to plan works and write reports.
CMMS knowledge, ideally within 12 months.
Electrical bias with mechanical principles knowledge.
Experience with machinery maintenance, welding, machining, hydraulics, pneumatics, and control systems.
Familiar with site SOPs and asset performance verification.

Responsibilities

Conduct planned maintenance of processing and packaging assets.
Perform predictive maintenance and condition monitoring.
Respond to breakdowns and execute corrective actions.
Identify faults and carry out required actions.
Lead or support change overs and set ups on machinery.
Manufacture and repair parts for assets.
Contribute to continuous improvement of assets and processes.

We have a fantastic opportunity for a Maintenance Engineer to join our expanding team and site in Newark!

Shift: 4 on 4 off, Nights

As Maintenance Engineer on Nights, you will conduct planned and predictive maintenance to prevent issues occurring. Your role will lead or support the operational teams with machinery change overs and set ups. Working with other teams, you will contribute to technical performance reviews and continuous improvement activities. Our Maintenance Engineers work as part of a team or standalone, depending on the task. The role reports to the Engineering Teams Manager

What you’ll be doing

Conduct planned maintenance of processing and packaging assets.
Conduct predictive maintenance of food processing and packaging assets (condition-based monitoring).
Respond to breakdowns.
Conduct reactive maintenance or corrective actions to resolve deviation.
Identify faults (electrical, mechanical, instrumentation, automation, and pneumatics) and action as required.
Lead or support operational teams with machinery change overs and set ups.
Manufacture and repair component parts for processing and packaging assets.
Contribute to continuous improvement projects to optimise assets or processes.

What we’re looking for

Engineering apprenticeship (C&G / EAL NVQ Level 3 / 4 or OAL FDEM Diploma)
Current Edition of IET Wiring Regulations (C&G Level 3, achieve within 12 months).
Application of Safety, Health and Environmental legislation and procedures
Planning works and writing reports.
Verify assets meet performance criteria after work.
Reading and adhering to site SOPs.
CMMS experience (achieve within 12 months).
Electrical bias
Experience in the following would be advantageous – Mechanical principles, F&D assets, welding, machining, turning, hydraulic, pneumatic & thermodynamics systems and / or, electrical principals, motors, motor control circuits, motion control, encoders, PLCs, sensors.
