Job Purpose

To provide first‑line maintenance support across all production departments, ensuring equipment reliability, safety, and performance. The role involves hands‑on technical work, team coordination, and continuous improvement initiatives to minimise downtime and optimise operational efficiency.

Key Responsibilities
  • Deliver prompt and effective maintenance support to production teams.
  • Lead fault diagnosis and advanced electrical repairs on production line equipment.
  • Maintain, calibrate, and service equipment to ensure operational reliability.
  • Conduct preventive and corrective maintenance on production equipment.
  • Perform root cause analysis of equipment failures and implement long‑term solutions.
  • Plan and allocate maintenance schedules to minimise production disruption.
  • Supervise contractor work and ensure compliance with site standards and safety policies.
  • Support equipment installation, commissioning, and modification projects.
  • Develop and monitor preventive maintenance schedules for critical assets.
  • Introduce predictive maintenance practices to reduce unplanned downtime.
  • Maintain accurate records and logs of all maintenance activities.
  • Ensure compliance with health, safety, and environmental regulations.
Continuous Improvement & Reporting
  • Identify and implement engineering solutions to improve equipment performance and energy efficiency.
  • Recommend upgrades or replacements for aging equipment.
  • Report maintenance KPIs, downtime analysis, and resource utilisation to management.
Qualifications & Skills
  • NVQ Level 3 or equivalent in Electrical/Mechanical Engineering.
  • Proven experience in a manufacturing or industrial maintenance role.
  • Strong knowledge of electrical systems, PLCs, and mechanical components.
  • Familiarity with HVAC, refrigeration, and compressed air systems.
  • Excellent problem‑solving and analytical skills.
  • Ability to lead and coordinate a team effectively.
