Job description

We are currently seeking a skilled and motivated Maintenance Engineer with experience in both hydraulics and electrical systems to join our team. This is an exciting opportunity for an individual with a strong technical background to contribute to the efficient operation and maintenance of our equipment and machinery.

Responsibilities
  • Perform routine maintenance, repairs, and troubleshooting on hydraulic and electrical systems.
  • Diagnose and resolve mechanical, hydraulic, and electrical faults promptly.
  • Ensure machinery and equipment are running at optimal efficiency, minimizing downtime.
  • Work with a range of electrical components, motors, drives, and control systems.
  • Carry out preventative maintenance and inspections on hydraulic systems, ensuring compliance with safety standards.
  • Assist with the installation, testing, and commissioning of new equipment.
  • Maintain accurate records of maintenance activities and equipment status.
  • Provide technical support to production teams as required.
  • Adhere to health and safety regulations, ensuring a safe working environment at all times.
Qualifications
  • Proven experience in maintaining and repairing hydraulic systems and electrical components.
  • Strong knowledge of electrical circuits, motors, drives, and control systems.
  • Hands‑on experience with PLCs, electrical fault finding, and hydraulic troubleshooting.
  • Ability to read and interpret technical drawings, wiring diagrams, and schematics.
  • Excellent problem‑solving skills and the ability to work under pressure.
  • Familiarity with industrial automation systems is a plus.
  • Strong communication and team‑working abilities.
  • Relevant qualifications in engineering (e.g., NVQ, City & Guilds, or equivalent).
Shift Pattern & Compensation

Basic shift pattern: "3 on, 4 off" (rotating days/nights). Overtime is paid at time and a half for your first 12 hours; anything over 48 hours is paid at double time.

Salary & Pay Structure

The salary for this position will be dependent on the candidate's experience, with opportunities for progression through a structured four‑grade pay system.
