Job summary

Druck UK, a global technology company, is seeking a Maintenance Engineer to join our skilled team at the Leicester facility. You will maintain diverse mechanical, electrical, vacuum, and hydraulic systems, perform planned maintenance, and respond to breakdowns to keep production running.

Working with a multi-skilled team, you will drive improvements, ensure safety, and keep accurate maintenance records. The role requires a timed served apprenticeship and UK work eligibility.

Qualifications

  • Timed served apprenticeship in engineering.
  • Background in a maintenance environment essential.
  • Fluent English; UK passport/work permit.
  • Valid full UK driving license; travel may be required.
  • Good interpersonal and communication skills; team or solo work.

Responsibilities

  • Maintain facility infrastructure and equipment (mechanical, electrical, vacuum, pneumatic, hydraulic, and F-Gas).
  • Minimise downtime via planned preventative maintenance and break-fix work.
  • Uphold health, safety, quality and cleanliness standards (Permit to Work).
  • Provide professional service and represent the department positively.
  • Evaluate maintenance performance and drive continuous improvement.
  • Keep maintenance records accurate and up-to-date.

Working as part of a highly skilled maintenance team you will manage your time to drive team performance in a busy production environment. Ensuring production targets are achieved with minimal plant downtime, whilst striving for improvements, both as a team and personally.

Working in a maintenance environment and reporting to the Plant Maintenance Team Leader, you will provide a multi-skilled technical service with the minimum of supervision to all departments including cleanroom environments. Working on a variety of technical equipment, and services covering breakdown repairs, planned maintenance and installation. You will be part of a team and will have good communication skills. The successful applicant must be fully committed to working safely and to accepting responsibility for the safety of fellow team members.

As a Maintenance Engineer, You Will Be Responsible For
  • Maintaining the facility infrastructure and manufacturing equipment, including mechanical, electrical, electronic, vacuum, pneumatic, hydraulic, and F-Gas systems
  • Ensuring downtime is kept to a minimum through planned preventative maintenance and break fix repairs
  • Working to maintain health & safety, quality, and cleanliness standards in line with company safe systems of work including Permit to Work
  • Providing a professional service and represent the department in a way that promotes a professional working relationship
  • Evaluating machine and maintenance performance, driving continual improvement of the maintenance activities
  • Ensuring that maintenance records are updated and completed accurately
Fuel your passion
To Be Successful In This Role You Must Have
  • Have completed a timed served apprenticeship in an engineering subject, be accredited to level 3 or 4 in mechanical, electrical or systems engineering
  • Have a previous background in a maintenance environment is essential - including practical maintenance experience
  • Be fluent in English, hold a UK passport/work permit and not require sponsorship in the future.
  • Hold a valid full UK driving license to enable travel as/when required
  • Have good interpersonal and communication skills with flexibility to business requirements either working as part of a team or individually
Desired Characteristics Include
  • Having experience with vacuum systems, Electron Beam/laser welders and PLC’s would be advantageous
  • Having experience in a controlled/cleanroom production environment would be advantageous

  • Working Schedule – 39 hours per week, flexible during the hours of 07:00 – 17:00hrs (Core hours 09:00 - 15:00)
  • Callout/Out of hours cover, 1 week in 5 (Details to be discussed further with successful candidates through the interviewing process)
