Maintenance Engineer - North West Region

📍 Field-Based | Full-Time | Permanent

About the Role:

As a Maintenance Engineer, you'll be responsible for carrying out planned preventative maintenance (PPM) and reactive maintenance tasks at various client sites. You'll work independently and as part of a team to ensure safe, effective, and efficient service delivery.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Deliver maintenance services safely, effectively, and profitably at client premises
  • Schedule and manage PPM tasks with accurate record keeping
  • Respond to reactive maintenance needs and investigate root causes
  • Estimate material and labour costs for client quotations
  • Manage sub-contractors and order necessary stock/equipment
  • Maintain tools, vehicles, and equipment to high standards
  • Ensure compliance with Health & Safety regulations, including Risk & COSHH Assessments
  • Communicate effectively with clients, colleagues, suppliers, and management
  • Maintain accurate records of expenses, materials used, and timesheets
What We're Looking For:
Essential Qualifications & Experience:
  • Full, clean UK driving licence
  • Asbestos Awareness, Working at Height, Manual Handling
  • Proven experience in building maintenance (e.g., plumbing, joinery, painting, minor roof repairs)
  • Knowledge of fire safety and electrical systems
  • Comfortable with lone-working and quoting for jobs
Desirable Qualifications:
  • IPAF, PASMA, PAT Testing, Legionella Awareness, Face Fit
  • Familiarity with Microsoft Office (Outlook, Word, Excel)
Personal Qualities:
  • Organised, numerate, and literate
  • Strong communication and customer care skills
  • Team-oriented with good risk management awareness
  • High level of common sense and initiative
