Maintenance Engineer - Salary £53,000 pa depending on experience - Location: Prescot, Knowsley

The availability of this role represents a great opportunity for a Multi-Skilled Engineer to join a company operating in one of the fastest growing sectors of the FMCG/Food Manufacturing Industry. This is a business that values its employees and offers structured training and development opportunities.

Shift Pattern: 4-on 4-off (2 days, 2 nights, 4 off).

Duties
  • Conduct Preventative maintenance on production and packaging machinery.
  • Respond to emergency breakdowns, apply fix and investigate cause.
  • Support the development of planned maintenance schedules.
  • Conduct equipment set-up and Changeovers in line with the production plan.
  • Maintain records relating to: PPM completion, Spare Parts availability, Route Causes of Failures, Remedial work carried out.
  • An understanding of Lean tools and Reliability improvement techniques.
  • Support the team during shutdowns and major machine service breakdowns.
  • Fault-find, rectification and basic modifications on PLC's.
  • Have experience on standard Mechanical components such as Motors, Hydraulics, Pneumatics, Bearings, Gearboxes.
  • Comply with company technical standards and procedures: GMP, Food Safety, Quality, CCP, Hygiene, BRC.
  • Provide Engineering support to Production to ensure performance and reliability of manufacturing and packaging equipment.
About the Engineer
  • Good hands-on Multi-Skilled Maintenance Skills (Electrical / Mechanical).
  • Previous experience working within a fast-moving manufacturing environment.
  • A track record of implementing maintenance improvements.
  • Technically minded with experience maintaining automated and semi-automated equipment.
  • Will be given bespoke training for continual upgrade of skills and experience.
  • Will be given opportunities to progress into a more senior role as business grows.
