TQR Plymouth is proud to be recruiting on behalf of a leading manufacturer based near Plymouth, seeking a Multi Skilled Maintenance Engineer ready to take the next step in their career. Key Responsibilities
  • Lead and support a small shift engineering team (1‑2 engineers per shift).
  • Diagnose and repair faults across hydraulic, pneumatic, steam, electrical, and robotic systems.
  • Drive improvements in reliability and maintenance scheduling.
  • Deliver planned preventative maintenance (PPM) and support TPM initiatives.
  • Assist with machinery installations, commissioning, and decommissioning.
  • Liaise with external contractors and internal teams to ensure smooth operations.
  • Champion Health & Safety and promote a proactive safety culture.
  • Identify repeat issues and contribute to long‑term engineering solutions.
Candidate Profile
  • NVQ Level 3 or higher in Mechanical/Electrical Engineering (HNC/HND desirable).
  • Proven experience in a manufacturing maintenance role – with mechanical bias.
  • Strong fault‑finding and diagnostic skills.
  • Confident reading and interpreting engineering drawings.
  • A natural leader with a collaborative mindset and a drive for continuous improvement.

Shift Pattern

Weekly rotating shifts:

  • Monday to Friday – 06:00 to 14:00
  • Monday to Friday – 14:00 to 22:00
