Overview

Job Title: Maintenance Engineer

Location: Hythe, Kent (you will need to drive and have your own transport)

Salary: up to £30,000

Hours: Monday to Thursday 7am - 5pm (potential to change to Monday to Friday 8-4 from the New Year)

You will be responsible for ensuring optimal performance and reliability of our clients manufacturing equipment and facilities.

Key responsibilities

• Carry out basic preventative maintenance on machinery to ensure operational efficiency.
• Conduct routine inspections and servicing of machinery to minimise downtime and maintain efficiency.
• Respond promptly to equipment breakdowns and carry out necessary repairs.
• Assist in the installation of new equipment, as well as refurbishments and modifications of existing systems.
• Ensure all maintenance work adheres to health and safety standards and procedures.
• Maintain a safe working environment.
• Identify and resolve mechanical, electrical and pneumatic issues to ensure continuous operations.
• Maintain accurate records of maintenance activities, including work orders, inspections and equipment history.
• Collaborate with the engineering team to implement improvements that enhance equipment reliability and performance.

Experience and skills required

• Proven experience in maintaining and repairing industrial machinery.
• A strong understanding of mechanical and electrical systems.
• Demonstrated ability to diagnose faults and implement effective solutions under pressure.
• Hands-on and proactive approach to tasks.
• Proven ability to carry out repair works effectively.
