Job description

You’ll work as part of the site’s Engineering Team on a 4 on / 4 off shift pattern (days and nights), supporting the delivery of planned preventative maintenance (PPM) and reactive repairs. This role plays a key part in developing and implementing a new Total Productive Maintenance (TPM) approach - helping to reduce downtime, improve performance, and ensure the smooth running of all production equipment.

What will you be doing?
  • Carry out planned preventative maintenance and reactive repairs on a wide range of equipment.
  • Diagnose faults, test, and maintain mechanical and electrical systems.
  • Lead shift-based problem solving where corrective actions aren’t clear.
  • Use the CMMS system to log work, analyse historical data, and identify improvement opportunities.
  • Support continuous improvement through TPM, root cause analysis, and 5S initiatives.
  • Ensure all work complies with health, safety, hygiene, and quality standards.
  • Collaborate with other departments to maintain strong communication and a positive team culture.
What will you bring to the party?
  • Time-served Maintenance Engineer or equivalent engineering qualification (e.g. NVQ, HNC).
  • Previous experience in a manufacturing or FMCG environment.
  • Knowledge of CMMS systems and fault‑finding on both mechanical and electrical equipment.
  • Proactive, safety‑conscious, and passionate about reliability and improvement.
  • Flexible and willing to support occasional overtime when required.
