Job description

Role: Maintenance Engineer
Location: Haywards Heath
Hours: 47.5 hours per week, Monday to Friday
Pay: £40,000 per annum + £2,000 annual bonus + overtime availability

An excellent opportunity has arisen for a Maintenance Engineer to join one of our longstanding clients, a well-established manufacturing organisation offering a permanent contract and a supportive team environment.

Requirements:
  • Qualified Mechanical Engineer
  • Demonstrable experience in mechanical skills, including: Welding; Drilling; Grinding; Hydraulics; Pneumatics.
  • Previous experience within a manufacturing environment (advantageous)
  • Commitment to health and safety
  • Strong organisational skills
  • Ability to work well within a team and multitask effectively
Role:
  • Responsible for the continuous running of machinery and equipment to ensure production targets are met
  • Provide plant-wide maintenance service, departmental support, and mechanical repairs
  • Monitor and support machine set-up and changeovers to ensure products meet quality assurance standards
  • Follow company isolation and lock-off procedures at all times
  • Complete all day-shift work instructions
  • Carry out risk assessments, dynamic risk assessments, and safe permit-to-work forms as required
  • Develop knowledge of the plant to support maintenance activities
  • Liaise with the Maintenance Manager to ensure all production and maintenance requirements are met
  • Assist maintenance teams with planned works and breakdowns as required
  • Carry a company radio at all times
  • Work during shutdown periods (holiday authorisation at manager's discretion)
