Maintenance Engineer

Harrogate

Day shift, flexible hours, part time considered

This is an excellent opportunity for a Maintenance Engineer with a mechanical or electrical bias to work in a busy manufacturing environment undertaking planned and preventative maintenance of equipment and breakdown repairs. This is daytime shift with flexible or part time hours available and we are very keen to hear from experienced engineers who have previously mentored apprentices or someone looking to move away from shift work.

The role
  • Undertaking planned and preventative maintenance on a range of automated manufacturing equipment
  • Attending breakdowns, undertaking fault finding and repair
  • Working with hydraulics, pneumatics, conveyors systems, motors, pumps and other mechanical systems
  • Fault finding on wiring, control panels and 3 phase motors
  • Working with the engineering manager to implement improvements where possible.
  • Upgrading and installation of new manufacturing equipment.
  • Keeping accurate records of service and maintenance history
  • Working with PLC's to identify faults
The person
  • You may be a confident mechanical engineer looking for a new challenge or have just completed your apprenticeship and be looking for your next role
  • Hold a relevant engineering qualification to minimum or be a time served
  • Have confident mechanical fitting skills and ideally some basic electrical knowledge
  • Be keen to undertake additional training where appropriate
  • We would be really interested to hear from candidates who are able to weld and machine parts
  • Be happy to undertake physical work and occasionally work at heights
  • Have confident fault finding and repair skills
  • Be able to work independently and assist with the guidance of apprentices
  • Have a good work ethics and be able to provide excellent references
