Job description

Role: Maintenance Engineer

Location: Glasgow and Surrounding Areas

Hours: Monday – Friday (45 hour paid door to door)

Salary: £47,000 Per annum, Company Van, Holiday and Pension contribution

The Company

My client are a global waste management company and they are industry leading in their respective industry. Globally they turn over multi billion a year. They are looking for a Maintenance Engineer to join their team and help keep the site running as efficiently as possible and help them to tackle reducing waste. They have been established for over 20 years now and in the UK alone they have a few key sites.

On sites they welcome end of line vehicles, waste electricals and large domestic appliances also working on cables. The company are very successful in their market, offering excellent employee benefits, fantastic training, progression and a great culture to work within.

The Role

As a Maintenance Engineer, you will be responsible for:

  • Carrying out day to day engineering tasks – mainly mechanical but a bit of electrical work as well
  • Travelling locally round sites reacting to breakdowns or servicing and performing PPMs
  • Working on Machinery including Shredders, Sheers, Mobile Plant Equipment, Presses, Tele Handlers and more
  • Mechanically responsible for replacing like for like components including Valves, Pumps, Bearings, Belts, Conveyors
  • Working with Hydraulic equipment
  • Electrically responsible for basic fault finding, working with sensors, relays and more
The Candidate

As a Maintenance Engineer, you will need:

  • A full UK drivers licence as you will be travelling round sites within the region
  • Be comfortable working independently as well as part of a team
  • Strong communicator as you will be attending numerous sites within the region
  • Comfortable working with Hydraulic systems, and have knowledge of welding

  • A annual salary of £47,000, including being paid from door to door
  • A company van and fuel card to expense travel between sites
  • 25 days annual leave plus bank holidays accumulating to 33 days a year
  • Healthy pension contribution from the client
