We are working with a market-leading organisation in the garage equipment industry to recruit Routine Maintenance / Thorough Examination Engineers in Carlisle.

These are home-based field service roles where you will be part of a specialist team responsible for carrying out statutory inspections, servicing, and compliance checks across a wide range of garage equipment at customer sites.

The Role

As a Routine Maintenance / Thorough Examination Engineer, you will:

  • Perform inspections and thorough examinations on a variety of garage equipment, including vehicle lifts, gas analysers, smoke testers, and brake testing equipment.

  • Complete statutory compliance checks and provide clear, accurate documentation.

  • Ensure customers' equipment is safe, compliant, and operating efficiently.

  • Work independently in the field while representing the business in a professional and customer-focused manner.

  • Follow correct processes with strong attention to detail and health & safety standards.

Ideal Candidate Profile
  • Essential:

  • Background in electronics engineering or a similar discipline.

  • Experience working with emissions and brake testing equipment.

  • Skills:

  • Excellent fault-finding and diagnostic ability.

  • Strong attention to detail with a methodical, compliance-driven approach.

  • Good communication and customer service skills.

  • Self-motivated and able to manage workload independently.

  • Desirable: Prior experience in field service or garage equipment engineering.
