Job summary

A leading engineering firm in Swindon is seeking an Electrical Maintenance Engineer to manage their Planned Preventative Maintenance (PPM) system. The ideal candidate will carry out electrical installations and fault diagnosis while ensuring compliance with company standards. An AM2 qualification and strong knowledge of electrical systems are required. This role offers a salary of £35,000 - £40,000 and benefits including flexible working hours and healthcare.

Qualifications

  • AM2 or equivalent electrical qualification is essential.

Job Title: Electrical Maintenance Engineer

Location: Swindon (Wiltshire)

Hours: 22 hours per week (flexible, 2-3 days)

Salary: £35,000 - £40,000 per annum

Reports To: Engineering Manager

Job Purpose

To manage and deliver the company's Planned Preventative Maintenance (PPM) system, ensuring all maintenance activities are completed safely, efficiently, and to the required standards of time, cost, and quality.

Key Responsibilities
  • Manage the company's PPM system, ensuring timely completion of maintenance and documentation.
  • Carry out electrical installation, testing, and fault diagnosis on plant and machinery within hazardous areas.
  • Manage and monitor sub-contractors and third-party suppliers.
  • Ensure all engineering activities are cost-effective and compliant with company standards.
  • Maintain manufacturing equipment and site utilities for safe and continuous operation.
  • Conduct routine in-house testing, including fire alarms, sprinkler systems, and emergency lighting.
  • Participate actively in daily team meetings as a key member of the engineering department.
Experience, Skills & Qualifications
  • Approved Practical Electrical Qualification (AM2)
  • EAL Level 3 in Verification, Inspection, Testing, and Certification of Electrical Installations
  • COMPEX qualification (or willingness to train)
  • Strong knowledge of electrical systems in manufacturing or industrial environments
  • Excellent problem-solving and organisational skills
