We’re hiring a Maintenance Engineer to join AMH Material Handling’s growing team in Swindon - supporting a brand-new automated logistics system that blends cutting‑edge AMR (Autonomous Mobile Robots) with traditional conveyor technology. Offering a competitive salary up to £52,000 including shift allowance, optional overtime, and the chance to work on one of the UK’s most advanced automated facilities.

The Role

As a Maintenance Engineer, you’ll play a key role in keeping our customer’s automated systems operating at peak performance. You’ll be part of a small, skilled team, providing both planned and reactive maintenance across conveyors, AMRs, and automated handling systems within a fast‑paced logistics environment.

Location: Swindon (SN3)

Salary: Up to £52,000 (inclusive of shift allowance) + Overtime

Hours: 12‑hour shifts, working on a four on, four off rotation (days and nights)

What You’ll Be Doing
  • Delivering planned preventative maintenance (PPM) and responding quickly to breakdowns
  • Supporting site uptime and performance against KPIs
  • Working safely to H&S standards, ensuring compliance with AMH and client policies
  • Using the CMMS system to record, plan and complete maintenance tasks
  • Supporting continuous improvement projects to enhance equipment reliability
  • Maintaining clear communication with the engineering and operations teams
  • Ensuring all documentation and reports are accurate and up to date

This is a hands‑on, technically varied role where you’ll work with the latest automation technologies and gain exposure to some of the most advanced logistics engineering systems in the UK.

Essential
  • Relevant qualification in engineering e.g. NVQ, apprenticeship etc

  • Strong fault‑finding and diagnostic skills
  • Excellent communication and team‑working ability
  • Flexible to work shifts (including days/nights on a 4-on, 4-off rotation)
