Job description

Maintenance Engineer — Location: South London — Salary: Up to £46,000 per annum — Rotating Shifts: Week 1: 10am to 6pm | Week 2: 6pm to 2am

As a key member of our clients engineering team, you’ll play a vital role in keeping our operations running smoothly and efficiently. You’ll be responsible for maintaining and improving plant and machinery performance, ensuring safety standards are upheld and driving continuous improvement across all maintenance activities.

Responsibilities
  • Champion continuous improvement of equipment, maintenance processes and plant reliability.
  • Uphold company standards, disciplines and safety protocols always.
  • Enhance equipment performance and reduce costs related to parts and consumables.
  • Accurately report incidents, accidents, and near misses in line with Health & Safety policies.
  • Maintain company assets to ensure optimal efficiency and longevity.
  • Foster strong communication with production teams and ensure smooth handovers and updates across shifts.
Qualifications
  • Experience: Minimum 3 years in a manufacturing or process-driven environment.
  • Qualifications: NVQ Level 3 & 4 in Engineering; HND or City & Guilds equivalent preferred. Must be apprentice-trained (BTEC).
  • Technical Skills: Proficient in both electrical and mechanical disciplines, including pneumatics, hydraulics, and electrical circuits. Able to interpret engineering drawings and schematics.
  • Teamwork: Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to collaborate across departments.
  • Systems Knowledge: Experience recording PPM data in a CMMS system.
  • Flexibility: Willingness to travel to other sites or training facilities when required.
Desirable Extras
  • Knowledge of steam systems and chemical water treatment (BG01 or BOAS accreditation).
  • Familiarity with water networks and heat recovery systems.
  • C&G #removed# Inspection & Testing certification.
  • Skills in fabrication and welding.
