Maintenance Engineer

Are you an experienced Mechanical Maintenance Engineer looking for your next permanent position? Is Cardiff docks an area you can easily commute to work? (you'll need your own transport) Would a salary of £38668 + shift allowance be OK for you plus overtime? Are you happy working a permanent 22:00 - 06:00 shift? Happy to work in a dusty environment doing PPM and reactive maintenance? If you have answered yes to the above questions then this may be the right role for you. Duties

• Carry out preventative maintenance, fault finding, and deal with machine down-time efficiency.
• Action repairs and ensure that all measures taken are recorded so recurrent faults can be recognised.
• Electrical and mechanical proactive and re-active maintenance.
• Provide assistance in troubleshooting and identification of equipment problems.
• Maintain relationships with production operators to foster a good team environment when working on the equipment.
• Write SOP's and other technical documents in support of the engineering department as well as the end users.
• Contribute to the continuous improvement of processes and practices.

Skills required

• Apprentice trained engineer.
• Experienced shift engineer in a high-volume continuous production manufacturing environment.
• Strong technical capability with mechanical engineering pedigree (familiar with pneumatic, hydraulic & mechanical systems) with basic level of competence in electrical systems and control.
• High competence in workshop skills.
• Ability to work at height (IPAF trained).
