Our client is looking for a highly skilled Maintenance Engineer to ensure facilities operate at peak efficiency and safety. This role is crucial in maintaining state-of-the-art facilities, including modern laboratories and historic buildings set within a beautifully landscaped parkland estate.

Day-to-day of the role
  • Investigate and diagnose issues across various systems including boilers, chillers, and medical gas systems, performing both planned and reactive maintenance.
  • Optimize system performance for energy efficiency through detailed data analysis and operational improvements.
  • Handle the commissioning and re-commissioning of plant and equipment as necessary.
  • Maintain accurate records of maintenance activities and outcomes using the CAFM system.
  • Ensure compliance with all safety standards and regulations, completing risk assessments and method statements for all tasks.
  • Participate in an emergency call-out service on a rotational basis.
  • Coordinate with the Helpdesk and manage relationships with contractors to ensure high standards of maintenance across the campus.
  • Supervise and manage specialist sub-contractors, ensuring all maintenance activities are performed according to schedule and standards.
Required Skills & Qualifications
  • Proven experience as a Maintenance Engineer, preferably within a similar environment.
  • Familiarity with boilers, chillers, heat pumps, medical gas systems, and BMS systems.
  • Strong understanding of building services maintenance including building fabric.
  • Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to perform under pressure.
  • Proficient in using CAFM systems and interpreting BMS data.
  • Strong communication skills for effective coordination with various teams and contractors.
