Job Title: Maintenance Engineer
Location: Bridgwater
Pay Rate: £18.50 Per hour | £24.50 OT
Shift Pattern: Monday – Friday (39 hrs)
Duration: Ad-hoc with potential to progress into full time.

We’re recruiting on behalf of a busy engineering company seeking an experienced, time‑served Maintenance Engineer. This role is workshop based as well as traveling to different sites to complete shutdown work.

What we’re looking for:

• Time-served engineer
• Background ideally in the food industry, but candidates from Textiles, Polyphosphate, or other industrial sectors also considered
• Strong experience working on medium to heavy plant
• Confident with mechanical fitting, including stripping, installing, and maintaining machinery
• Good hands‑on skills, practical mindset, and a solid work ethic
• Reliable, punctual and able to work unsupervised

The role includes:

• Mechanical maintenance, repairs, and fault‑finding
• Stripping and rebuilding machinery
• Workshop‑based engineering tasks, moving into on‑site shutdown projects
• Supporting planned and reactive maintenance work across multiple sites
