About the Role

We're seeking a proactive and skilled Maintenance Engioneer with an electrical bias to join our dynamic engineering team at our Blackburn site. You'll play a critical role in maintaining and optimising production machinery within a successful manufacturing environment, ensuring safe, efficient, and continuous operations.

This is a hands‑on role for someone who thrives in a fast‑paced manufacturing setting and is passionate about problem‑solving, preventative maintenance, and continuous improvement.

Key Responsibilities
  • First responder to equipment breakdowns
  • Diagnose faults and record details in CMMS
  • Collaborate with shift crews and day teams to resolve issues
  • Ensure smooth handover of unresolved breakdowns across shifts
  • Execute assigned routines (e.g. motor checks, HMI programming, panel cooling units)
  • Respond to electrical/control system faults and carry out effective repairs
  • Log all activities and labour time in EAM
  • Set up machines to maximise output and maintain safety systems
  • Prepare detailed shift reports with technical recommendations
  • Attend shift handovers and highlight training needs
  • Promote operator engagement with EAM work requests
What We're Looking For
  • NVQ Level 3 (or equivalent) in Electrical Engineering
  • 2‑3 years' engineering experience in a manufacturing environment.
  • Proficient in reading electrical diagrams and using diagnostic instruments
  • Skilled in motor control systems, drives, sensors, and PLC I/O checks
  • Capable of working independently with minimal supervision
