Job summary

An innovative engineering company in Ashford is seeking an experienced Maintenance Engineer with an FMCG background. The role involves reactive, preventative, and planned maintenance on various systems, including refrigeration and production lines. Applicants should have an approved UK engineering apprenticeship and experience in PLC fault finding. The position offers flexibility with both night and double day shift options.

Qualifications

  • Experience in fault finding on PLC’s and Power & Control circuits required.
  • Must hold valid MEWP / IPAF licences.
  • Highly desirable experience in food manufacturing packing.

Responsibilities

  • Conduct reactive, preventative, and planned maintenance on onsite plant.
  • Ensure safe and efficient operation of all systems.
  • Work as the only engineer on a shift if necessary.

Skills

Fault finding experience on PLC’s / Scada / Power & Control circuits
Computer literate (Word / Excel)
Experience in food manufacturing packing

Education

As an Engineer, this role is responsible for the reactive, preventative and planned repair and maintenance to all onsite plant. All these works must be conducted in a safe manner. This includes areas such as packing hall productions lines, dry & cold stores, site facilities including the cooling tower & production wastewater plant) and refrigeration equipment, ensuring safe efficient operation. Potentially working as the only engineer on a shift with full responsible for the engineering elements onsite working along the Production Shift Supervisor.

1 x Night Shift£(phone number removed) hours per week – Sunday – Thursday 22.00 – 06.00

2 x Double Days£42,972.840 hours per week Week 1 - Monday - Friday 06.00 – 14.00 Week 2 – Monday – Friday 14.00 – 22.00

What do you need?
  • Approved UK engineering apprenticeship scheme
  • 17 / 18th BS 7671 Electrical wiring regulations
  • Fault finding experience on PLC’s / Scada / Power & Control circuits / Pneumatics / Mechanical drive conveyor systems.
  • Computer literate (Word / Excel etc.)
  • MEWP / IPAF licences. (current)
  • Experience in food manufacturing packing / weighing and vertical sealers - highly desirable
