Qualifications

Job description

As an Electrician, you’ll play a key role in maintaining safe, compliant systems and supporting sustainability, all while making a real impact in a vital public service.

Responsibilities
  • Ensuring Health & Safety standards are met across the contract
  • Testing and inspecting electrical installations in line with current IEE wiring regulations
  • Responding promptly to breakdowns, ensuring all work is carried out safely and efficiently
  • Performing planned and preventative electrical maintenance and diagnosing/replacing failed domestic electrical components
  • Actively faultfinding and problem solving on domestic electrical systems
  • Undertaking electrical installation activities according to provided designs and IET Wiring Regulations
  • Monitoring and ordering critical spares for all electrical services, and overseeing the BMS System
  • Supporting zero carbon initiatives, contributing to sustainability goals, and handling additional tasks as directed by your line manager
Qualifications
  • City & Guilds 2365 (Parts 1-3), NVQ Level 3 or equivalent
  • 18th Edition BS7671 Wiring Regulations
  • Knowledge and experience of Electrical Systems and Electricity at Work Regulations
  • Experience of electrical maintenance activities, general distribution, installation, and testing
  • Ability to work alone and use initiative
  • Comfortable working at heights and in a secure environment

Working Hours & Schedule

The standard hours of work are 39 hours per week, across 7 days as a 1 in 3 weekend shift pattern is in place, which comes with an additional allowance of 15% of basic salary. You will also be part of the on‑call team rota, contributing to the responsive works.
