Maintenance Electrician

Contract: Banking

Location: Newcastle, NE3 4PL (plus local travel)

Hours of work: 40 (Mon - Fri)

Contract Type: Permanent

We are seeking a skilled and reliable Maintenance Electrician to join our facilities team, providing both proactive and reactive electrical maintenance services.

You will play a key role in maintaining operational performance, ensuring compliance with safety standards, and delivering high-quality service that supports the smooth running of client sites.

Job Description

This role requires a results-driven individual with strong technical knowledge, a commitment to safe working practices, and the flexibility to respond to planned and reactive maintenance demands.

Working as part of a collaborative engineering team, you'll help uphold the company's reputation for excellence and reliability in building services maintenance.

Key Responsibilities
  • Carry out planned and reactive maintenance on electrical systems, including lighting, power, BMS, and controls.
  • Undertake routine inspections, fault finding, and electrical testing to maintain full operational efficiency.
  • Install, repair, and upgrade electrical infrastructure in accordance with safety regulations.
  • Ensure all work is performed to engineering standards and in line with Health and Safety at Work Act (HASAWA) requirements.
  • Maintain accurate records and documentation in line with quality assurance procedures.
  • Collaborate with engineers and contractors to ensure efficient completion of PPM and reactive works.
  • Respond promptly to emergency callouts and breakdowns when required.
  • Support continuous improvement initiatives and uphold excellent customer service standards.
Professional and Personal Competencies / Qualifications
  • Proven experience in electrical maintenance within a building services or engineering environment.
  • City & Guilds 2330 or NVQ Level 3/4 (or ONC) in an electrical discipline.
  • 18th Edition qualification.
  • Strong fault-finding, problem-solving and diagnostic skills.
  • Good communication skills and ability to work effectively as part of a team.
  • Attention to detail with a commitment to delivering quality and safety in all tasks.
  • Willing to travel locally as required.
  • Full UK Driving Licence required.
