Job summary

Howmet Aerospace Inc. is seeking an apprentice-trained electrician to install, maintain, test and repair equipment in a heavy engineering/ manufacturing setting. You will support operations to meet targets while upholding health and safety standards.

Normal hours are 42 per week with a 24/7 shift pattern; you will operate a site CMMS, plan work, diagnose faults and contribute to facility improvements.

Qualifications

• Experience in manufacturing environment.
• Apprentice trained electrician.
• Knowledge of health & safety at work.

Responsibilities

• Assist with development of PPM systems and forward scheduling of maintenance activities.
• Operational tasks to comply with legislation and company procedures.
• Fault diagnosis, repair and maintenance in a steel work / heavy engineering environment.
• Conversant with general machine wiring and installation, including temperature control and lighting.
• Plan and schedule planned and unplanned work.
• Liaise with client departments.
• Control maintenance tools, stores and equipment.
• Monitor maintenance costs.
• Improve production facilities.

Responsibilities

Working Hours

Normal hours of work are 42 hours per week, 24/7 shift pattern, Monday to Sunday inclusive. The postholder is required to work such hours as are necessary in order to satisfactorily perform the role.

Main Purpose of Job

To effectively carry out the installation, maintenance, testing and repair of all equipment used within the manufacturing industry. To support the operations team to achieve their target and to maintain health & safety standards. To meet legislative requirements, meet company standards/Policy while ensuring optimum plant performance.

Key Tasks and Accountabilities

Experience

• Experience of working in a manufacturing environment

Ability to follow job instructions / processes

A good understanding of the principles of Health & Safety at work

Apprentice trained electrician.

Experience of electrical engineering in a production line/foundry environment.

Capable of operating the site based computerised planned maintenance system to monitor and record all works carried out

Have a proven ability of fault finding and problem solving on electrical control circuits and 3 phase power supplies

Be self-motivated and able to work with minimum supervision

Work on a Panama shift system may be required
