Job description
Overview

Rullion is offering an exciting opportunity for a qualified electrical fitter to become part of an established rolling stock company at their Oxley, Wolverhampton depot. You will play a pivotal role as part of the maintenance team dedicated to a High‑Speed locomotive fleet.

Compensation & Working Hours

The role falls inside IR35. Payment options are either PAYE or Umbrella.
Hourly rate: £31.02‑£37.16 (Umbrella) / £24.30‑£27.59 (PAYE).
Night shifts: Mon‑Thu, 10‑hour shifts.

Principal Accountabilities
  • To undertake service and repair of the depot rolling stock and associated equipment in support of the operation of the depot.
  • Servicing, maintaining and repair of the overhaul fleet locomotives, coaching stock, and equipment.
  • Ensuring that the fleet is serviced and maintained in a safe, efficient and cost‑effective manner.
  • Seeking to improve quality.
  • SQF work on passenger information systems, lighting and other equipment.
  • Operate as a member of a work team, as required by the role of that work team.
  • Maintain good housekeeping within the working area.
  • Undertake any other duties as and when required within the scope of the modification work.
Qualifications
  • Strong understanding of electronic and electrical engineering related to various types of rolling stock. Mechanical experience is also an advantage.
  • Technical proficiency in electrical and mechanical engineering.
  • Effective verbal and written communication skills.
  • Competency in IT skills, including the use of personal computers, office software and diagnostic equipment.
  • Electrical Engineering: Must possess relevant experience in an electrical engineering environment.
  • Qualification: NVQ Level 3 in Electrical or equivalent.
  • Team collaboration: Able to work effectively as a member of a multi‑disciplined team.
  • Problem Solver: Demonstrate strong problem‑solving skills.
  • Interpersonal skills: exhibit excellent interpersonal skills.
  • Initiative: Capable of working independently when required.
