Shift Engineer (Electrical Bias)

Location: Leeds

Salary: £33,100 + 15% shift allowance (£4,965) = £38,065

Shift Pattern: 4 on / 4 off (6am to 6pm)

About the Role

We are looking for a skilled Shift Engineer (Electrical Bias) to join a dynamic maintenance team at the Leeds Oncology Wing. You will play a key role in ensuring the hospital is maintained to the highest standards, delivering a responsive and customer-focused service.

What You’ll Do
  • Lead a small shift team of Maintenance Craftsmen and Assistants.
  • Carry out reactive and planned maintenance on building, mechanical, and electrical services.
  • Work on systems including:
    • Heating and domestic water services
    • General electrical services (lighting & power)
    • Air handling units
    • Low voltage electrical distribution
    • Emergency standby generators
    • Fire alarms & emergency lighting
    • Electrical control systems & BMS
  • Maintain accurate records and provide regular progress reports.
  • Participate in a 24/7/365 rotating shift pattern.
  • Undertake training to act as Authorised Person when required.
  • Occasionally assist with minor installation and upgrade works.
What We’re Looking For
  • Qualified time-served engineer with at least 3 years post-apprenticeship experience.
  • Electrical bias with multi-skilled flexibility.
  • Healthcare experience desirable but not essential.
  • Cross-trade experience advantageous.
