Job summary

Blast Off Bay in Thurrock, United Kingdom, seeks a Maintenance Director to lead maintenance across pools, HVAC, plumbing, electrical and structural systems. This hands-on role ensures safety, efficiency, and high standards while guiding a team of technicians.

You will plan preventive and corrective maintenance, manage schedules and budgets, ensure safety compliance, and collaborate with other departments to support guest satisfaction.

Qualifications

• 2+ years of progressive maintenance experience, with at least 1 year in a management or supervisory role.
• HVAC Certification preferred.
• CPO certification preferred; must obtain within 60 days of hire if not currently certified.
• Strong knowledge of plumbing, electrical, mechanical, and structural systems.

Responsibilities

• Lead and supervise a team of maintenance technicians and specialists.
• Plan, coordinate, and manage all maintenance operations, including preventive and corrective maintenance.
• Oversee upkeep of HVAC, waterpark and pool systems, plumbing, electrical, kitchen equipment, gym machinery, hotel rooms, and structural elements.
• Ensure compliance with safety, health, and environmental standards and local regulations.
• Manage maintenance schedules, vendor relationships, budgets, inventory, and procurement of tools and supplies.
• Respond to emergency maintenance situations and coordinate timely resolution.
• Maintain records of inspections, repairs, and scheduled maintenance.
• Collaborate with other departments to support facility operations and guest satisfaction.

This hands‑on management role is responsible for ensuring that all equipment, systems, and infrastructure function safely, efficiently, and to the highest standards. The ideal candidate will bring leadership, technical expertise, and strong organizational skills to manage a team of maintenance professionals across a diverse range of facility areas.

• Must be able to work flexible hours, including weekends and holidays as needed.
• Valid driver’s license required.
