Job summary

PX Group’s Wyke site is seeking a Maintenance Leader to head the Maintenance Delivery Team, ensuring safe, quality and cost-effective maintenance and plant turnarounds. You will drive leadership, safety culture and performance in a highly technical environment at Wyke, near Bradford.

You will lead with a focus on efficient maintenance delivery, partnering with manufacturing and engineering leaders to optimize uptime and asset reliability while managing contractors and budgets.

Qualifications

  • Experience in Engineering, Maintenance and People management.
  • Experience in setting and delivering engineering KPI’s.
  • Relevant Senior Engineering qualifications (E, C&I, Mechanical, Chemical, etc).

Responsibilities

  • Lead the Maintenance Delivery Team to ensure safety, reliability and uptime.
  • Set objectives and monitor performance against site strategies.
  • Oversee safe, quality, cost-effective maintenance and turnarounds.
  • Coordinate contractor management and procurement interfaces.
  • Drive continuous improvement of maintenance processes and CMMS.
  • Plan and manage budget within forecasts.

Located in Bradford, West Yorkshire, the Wyke Agrichemicals Manufacturing Plant is operated by px Group in partnership with Nufarm. The site is one of the UK's leading crop protection manufacturing facilities, manufacturing crop protection products for Nufarm that support farmers and growers around the world.

The Opportunity

We are now recruiting for a Maintenance Leader

As a Maintenance Leader for px Group, Wyke, you will lead the Maintenance Department and be accountable for the delivery of safe, quality assured, timely and cost-effective maintenance and shutdowns (turnarounds) service by employees and contractors to meet the needs of Manufacturing and other site asset owners

You’ll be supported with personalised on the job training, coaching, mentoring and twice-yearly development and performance reviews to help maintain & develop your contributions and competence.

Key Responsibilities
  • People Leader of the Maintenance Delivery Team and accountable for their health, safety and performance.
  • Translates and communicates the business strategy and objectives to the maintenance personnel.
  • Provides leadership, coaching and expectations for the personnel, participating in the plant goal setting processes.
  • Challenges teams and individuals to set, monitor and achieve goals aligned to the business and site strategies and goals.
  • Accountable for providing a safe, quality assured, competitive, and responsive maintenance service to the site.
  • Safely and efficiently execute preventive/predictive and reactive maintenance, implementing best practices in maintenance delivery, employee & contractor management and work patterns to maximise plant uptime at minimum cost.
  • Accountable for contractor management (long-term, service and specialist) – safety, quality and cost performance.
  • Jointly accountable with Procurement for the selection and verification of contractors and the contractor strategy.
  • Accountable for the continuous improvement of the maintenance work process (Work orders, planning, scheduling, execution and documenting) and the upkeep of the CMMS.
  • Accountable for safe delivery of plant shutdowns. Accountable for agreed maintenance delivery budget, highlighting and managing any overspend on forecast.
  • Working with manufacturing and engineering leaders to highlight and implement cost saving and efficiency.
  • Develop and implement maintenance and organisational strategy in conjunction with Manufacturing Manager.
Minimum Requirements
  • Experience in Engineering, Maintenance and People management
  • Experience in setting and delivering engineering KPI’s
  • Relevant Senior Engineering qualifications (E, C&I , Mechanical, Chemical, etc)
Desirable
  • Relevant Engineering Degree.
  • Relevant Safety Qualifications (IOSH, NEBOSH etc)
