Job summary

A regional health trust is seeking an experienced Maintenance Craftsperson with a joinery bias to join their multi-disciplined Estates Team. You will be responsible for installation, maintenance, and improvement works across sites, ensuring adherence to health and safety standards. The ideal candidate will have a recognised joinery apprenticeship and relevant NVQ qualification, committing to quality improvement and cross-trade flexibility.

Qualifications

  • Completion of recognized Building Bias apprenticeship.
  • Joinery NVQ Level 3 or equivalent required.
  • Background in building bias preferred.

Responsibilities

Job description
Overview

An exciting opportunity for an experienced Maintenance Craftsperson with a building joinery bias to join our multi‑disciplined Estates Team. The Estates Department is responsible for the repair, maintenance and management of all building and engineering services within the Trust.

Responsibilities
  • Carry out installation and improvement works across all contracted sites in accordance with organisational standards and national legislation.
  • Undertake skilled and semi‑skilled tasks within and beyond the core skill set to meet service needs.
  • Assist other trades and contractors as required.
  • Ensure all work complies with Health and Safety requirements, maintaining a safe environment for patients, staff and visitors.
  • Participate in the Estates out‑of‑hours on‑call service.
  • Show commitment to and participate in quality improvement activities.
  • Demonstrate cross‑trade flexibility, including electrical isolations and building maintenance work under extreme conditions such as gritting and snow clearing.
Qualifications
  • Recognised Building Bias apprenticeship completion.
  • Joinery NVQ Level 3 (or equivalent).
  • Building Bias background.
