Role

We have an exciting opportunity for a Fleet Maintenance Controller to join our growing Operations Team at Holman UK. The role is based in our Birmingham office, near the NEC. This is a permanent position with a salary circa £36,000 per year, dependent on qualifications and experience.

Key Responsibilities
  • Ensure costs are managed effectively, maximize vehicle availability, and deliver exceptional service to customers.
  • Manage authorisation requests promptly, validate work is necessary, apply correct pricing and labour times, challenge vendors appropriately, and input accurate information into Holman systems as required by the business.
  • Control downtime, conduct quality work progression activities, and update systems clearly and accurately.
  • Engage with customers regarding authorisation activities, determine cost-effective solutions, and keep customers updated on work progress.
What we're looking for

Education and/or Training

  • Technical vehicle-related qualifications such as City & Guilds or equivalent
  • Demonstrable, detailed knowledge of motor vehicle mechanics, preferably including HGV and ancillary equipment
  • Computer literate with working knowledge of Microsoft Outlook and Excel
  • Qualifications or good knowledge of vehicle compliance requirements and the importance of compliant vehicles and equipment

Relevant Work Experience

  • Experience in a workshop environment or similar
  • Experience working within a team in an office environment
  • Adept at computer use and familiar with Microsoft applications

Planning/Organizing/Managerial Knowledge

  • Demonstrable analytical and problem-solving abilities
  • Ability to multi-task with consistency and accuracy
  • Highly organised with the ability to manage multiple workstreams
